Kilifi is one of the poorest regions in Kenya and many communities are experiencing the direct impacts of climate change. Deforestation is also a huge problem here as people need more space to make a living from agriculture. The Leaf (Little Environmental Action Foundation) is a tree planting charity in Kenya who work directly with communities throughout Kilifi to help restore the environments around them, provide an alternative income and an education on the importance of forest ecosystems in Kenya. ​
